Who can join as an Artist Member? We have two criteria for Artist Membership, and you only need to fulfill one. If you live in Long Beach or if you regularly perform, display or otherwise participate in the arts in Long Beach on a regular basis. If you meet either or both of these criteria we want you to be an Artist Member. What are the guidelines for Artist Members? The benefits of our on-line community will be enjoyed by everyone if we stick to a few simple guidelines. It is not our desire to censor or to stifle the creative process in any way, however: 1) We require that the information placed on the site by our Artist Members be accurate, truthful and timely. As long as this is the case, all of our members and visitors will feel confident that they can come to our on-line community and find out what's really going on, where and when it's happening. 2) We require that Artist Members refrain from doing anything that can be viewed as harmful to the sucess of another Artist Member (or themselves). We are a community and if we harm others, we harm ourselves. This means refraining from posting material that can be considered as prurient and/or offensive. 3) We require that if you are contacted by a Patron via E-mail, you request permission before adding them to any bulk E-mailings. This will reduce the likelihood of spamming complaints. 4) We require that, if you are aware of an Artist Member who is failing to abide by these guidelines, you report it to us and not try to intercede directly. All reports of questionable activity will remain anonymous. We believe that these simple guidelines will encourage the active participation of everyone within the Long Beach Culture community. NOTE: As you develop your presence in the Long Beach Culture community, you will encounter specific technical guidelines not outlined here. What is our agreement with Artist Members? We encourage Artist Members to include Long Beach Culture.org on all flyers and other promotional materials. We also encourage Artist Members to include a banner link to Long Beach Culture.org on their websites. This will increase exposure to our community and benefit everyone. It is very important to note that Artist Members retain all rights to materials created and posted by them.
