Local Arts Web Site Announces Newest Member of Their Board Of Advisors

Mum's Restaurant Office Manager, Allie Cahill, Joins LongBeachCulture.org

Long Beach, CA - May 26, 2000 - In a continuing effort to work closely with the Arts community, Long Beach Culture [http://www.longbeachculture.org] today announced the appointment of Allie Cahill to its Board of Advisors panel. Long Beach Culture [LBC], a new web site created to support the Arts in Long Beach, has begun assembling a Board Of Advisors to help them more fully meet the needs of Artist community. LBC has been in existence for less than two months but has already successfully signed up more than 100 artists and over 200 members.

Allie Cahill is the office manager of the successful Mum's Restaurant, opened in 1988. At that time, Long Beach was thirsting for a public artistic venue, one that could embrace local talent and also draw on regional and national influences. Over the past decade, Mum's Restaurant has made an effort to adapt to and fulfill the community's desire for artistic expression, whether it be the showcase of contemporary art displayed throughout the restaurant and nightclub or the variety of local musicians that have graced their premises. Mum's has also been involved in the promotion of various events for theatre and musical groups based in Long Beach, as well as provided its location for not only film and television, but also for a number of photo shoots. Mum's Restaurant takes great pride in supporting the next generation of musicians and performers by donating to local universities and community groups.

"I am so fortunate to live and work in Long Beach during such a dynamic transition. Long Beach is beginning to embrace a confident, positive identity with not only a unique variety of facets, but also a strong sense of community pride. This pride can only be intensified by the introduction of LongBeachCulture.org and the incredible platform it provides for Long Beach citizens," Allie Cahill states.

LBC will announce other Board of Advisors Members throughout this month and June, as circumstances permit.
