Long Beach, CA - March 1, 2000 - Long Beach Culture.org today announced the launch date of its comprehensive entertainment and cultural Internet portal site. Long Beach Culture.org, created by a group of active local artists and musicians with professional backgrounds in journalism, marketing, graphic design, development, computer programming, and internet business solutions, operates a purely Internet-based business model and related unique cultural destination web presence.
Long Beach Culutre.org, operating in a not-for profit business model, has developed one of the most comprehensive, database driven portal sites on the web focusing specifically on the cultural community. Long Beach Culture.org is a comprehensive destination or portal site on the Internet that allows artists (artists, actors and musicians) to promote and showcase their work in a real-time, on-line (Internet) community to a focused audience of patrons, free of charge.
There is currently no similar single source for finding out about these local cultural treasures and Long Beach Culture.org aspires to establish itself as that single source. "Long Beach Culture.org has the ability to provide cross-referencing of events and venues, as well as artists by name, type and/or genre. Our operating platform is scaleable and by design, can easily grow to accommodate new value-added features," stated Lorenzo Gigliotti, Chief Technical Officer of Long Beach Culture.org.
Sander Wolff, Chief Operating Officer of Long Beach Culture.org, points out, "Arts and culture in Long Beach are booming and there is a steadfast push from the local government to promote the arts in Long Beach." Mr. Wolff continued, "Long Beach Culture.org is all about the local cultural community and how to help them grow without incurring expense."
There is currently no single source for finding out about the cultural treasures of Long Beach. No newspaper, web site, magazine or radio station adequately covers the complex cultural landscape of Long Beach.
Chris Sweeney, an artist himself and Creative Director at Long Beach Culture.org is excited about the future of Long Beach Culture.org and states, "Arts and culture are fractionalized at best, and trying to keep abreast of the events can be a daunting process. People may hear about one type of event but never hear about another. At Long Beach Culture.org, we provide a virtual community where artists and culturalists alike can join together in supporting the local cultural scene."
The Long Beach Culture.org business model provides a platform for culturalists, artists/performers, advertisers and sponsors to market their "goods" directly to a demographically predetermined active consumer audience.
The Long Beach Culture.org Web Portal will be available by March 15, 2000.
