Long Beach, CA - May 5, 2000 - In a continuing effort to work closely with people in the Arts community, Long Beach Culture [http://www.longbeachculture.org] today announced the appointment of Mark diPiazza to its Board of Advisors panel. Long Beach Culture [LBC], a new web site created to support the Arts in Long Beach, has begun assembling a Board Of Advisors to help them more fully meet the needs of Artist community. LBC has been in existence for less than two months but has already successfully signed up more than 80 artists and 200 members.
Mark diPiazza is the manager of the successful Lava Lounge, opened in 1998. At that time, Long Beach was thirsting for another music venue, one that could embrace local talent and also draw on regional and national touring acts. Since they opened, they've been used for a music video by Lit, and had such luminaries as The Untouchables, TSOL, The Vandals, Dee Dee Ramone, Jonathon Richman, Smokey Hormel, and Wayne Kramer grace their stage. They've also continually supported Long Beach bands, including 00 Soul, Mention, Bredrin Daddys, TwelveHourMary, Shave, Speaker, VX, Squeak Toy, Foam Rubber Sole, Blue Dot, Thu Winners, and countless others.
"It makes me proud to be able to nurture the amazing talent here in Long Beach," said diPiazza, "and the people at LongBeachCulture.org are doing the same thing. It's a natural fit."
LBC will announce other Board of Advisors Members throughout this month and June, as circumstances permit.
LongBeachCulture.org is a free service that enables musicians, bands, artists, and actors to promote themselves and their events. Event and Artist information is completely searchable, allowing fans of the Arts to easily find anything they're looking for.
