Long Beach, CA - May 26, 2000 - In a continuing effort to provide people in the Arts community with powerful, cutting edge, and easy to use tools, Long Beach Culture [http://www.longbeachculture.org] today announced the launch of GigWatchsm, a free tool that allows Members to select their favorite Artists and receive automatic, personalized e-mail notifications whenever the selected Artists enter an Event on the LongBeachCulture.org web site.
"This is an exciting innovation," said Lorenzo Gigliotti, Director of Technology at Long Beach Culture [LBC]. "Whether you're announcing a gallery opening, a poetry slam, a dance recital, or musical performance, your fans can stay up to date."
Chris Sweeney, Creative Director at LBC, added, "if you're a fan of the Arts, you don't have to worry about missing your favorite Artist's next Event."
"This is part of our continuing commitment," continued Lorenzo, "to provide our Members with state-of-the-art tools, tools that will enable them to bring our community together in ways no one could imagine a short time ago."
LongBeachCulture.org is a free service that enables musicians, bands, artists, and actors to promote themselves and their events. Event and Artist information is completely searchable, allowing fans of the Arts to easily find anything they're looking for. New features are being developed all the time, including 'Chat!', a message board for the free exchange of ideas and information.
